Started planning career in 1987 on Primavera Finest Hour Software.
I was involved in the project planning of outage programmes for general overalls in the power generation sector (Eskom) and also did maintenance planning as well.
I have been working on outage programmes for many years and am currently involved in the project planning of the new Medupi Power Station in South Africa. This is the biggest power station to have been built in Africa at present.

Planning and Project Control Engineer for Instrumentation Construction Works Project, on an oil & gas plant for Sincor, subcontracted for Contrina(s) group (Technip – DIT Harris – Kellog Brown & Root - Inelectra). This instrumentation project, executed under PDVSA – TOTAL - SINCOR standards, included 14,000 instruments calibrated, 8,000 instruments installed and loop tested, 550 PSV tested, 14 km of cable tray installed, 6 km of fiber optic cable pulled, 82 multi-cables junction boxes installed, and more than 300 km of instruments cable pulled.
Resident Construction Engineer Jun 2002 – Sep 2003
Resident Engineer for a 230 kV transmission line built for CADAFE (National government electrical company). This transmission line was 120 km in length, had 360 auto-supported towers, and contained a total of 2,000 tons of 3-phase conductors and one OPGW cable all the way. This was a 7 MM USD project constructed in Falcon State, Venezuela, during a 16-month period, and took 480,000 man-hours to complete. All work was done to a high level of Health and Safety and ISO-9001 2000 standards.

Update weekly progress control sheets and monitored/leveled the manpower on various disciplines. Prepare for progress of various pre-commissioning systems and activities. Check and update database link to SPR for overall piping progress and Plots 3D drawings (SPR) for system-wise pre-commissioning lines and critical activities (lines) as well. Developing and implementing the plans & schedules for crafts, manpower allocation and vendor schedules.
