I worked as a Planning and Resourcing Manager working on a MoD PFI Project in Wiltshire. The value is circa £100m and my work is to programme in detail the area of work I am responsible for. Once converted to a live project upon Financial Close my role will then be to monitor the progress the work with my remit. This will involve monthly reporting to my immediate line manager and also to the team as a whole so as to keep the project focused on target finishing dates throughout the projects duration.

The role was to monitor site progress and as the handover approached ensure the site team knew if any areas where slipping behind. The other part of the role was to assist the Estimating Department in tendering for further work.

Project Planner with Laing O’Rourke (London & South East) Ltd working on the £185m Ascot Racecourse Redevelopment Project. Responsibilities for the £90m shell and core element of this project, under the new NEC contract, included monitoring and progressing the overall programme and some of the larger package programmes. Working with an assistant my role included control over both direct and sub-contract works, reporting to both internal and external customers.
