need your help urgently in risk analysis for my graduation project

hey, i'm a construction project management student and i don't know much about risk management, and i have to apply risk analysis to my graduation project and i'm in rush and no time for deep learning, so i need your help please.

i got pertmaster but it wasn't easy enough to understand on my own, and i can't find something brief to learn the basics quickly. also found that there's many methods in pertmaster for analysis so i don't know what's the basic method to use. and what are appropriate options to use!

Why Schedule Risk results for P50 and P80 are very close?

I am reaching out here because our client had a question and I had no answer for it.
Here is our case: We have a fairly large schedule (7000 activities) in P6 and we did duration uncertainty ranging for 454 activities near to critical path (TF<2weeks) also remaining duration more than 2 weeks.
Project duration is 2.5 years.

Results off of PRA risk analysis show 50% and 80% are only a week apart. Now client says that they use to see at least a month difference between P50 and P80.
Any thoughts why this is happening?
I appreciate your help.

Anchoring

Do you use any technique to moderate/eliminate the impact/influence of anchoring (providing a reference value) during your risk workshops?  I just became aware of the phenomenon(a) and wondered what others are doing.  Generally, I try to elicit percentage ranges eg. -10%, +20% to the calculated/estimated deterministic value.  In my mind, that should be enough.  Is it?  What do you do?

Thanks,

Primavera Risk Analysis and Primavera: Exporting, what to watch out for and what shouldn't be there??

S
S M 👤 Member for 13 years 8 months

Hi All,

I am compiling a procedure (almost checklist) for our Planning Department of what they should do to their schedules and any additional house-keeping/alterations to their plan or what they should be aware of when their plan is exported into Pertmaster.
