Progress measurement systems

J
Jay S 👤 Member for 18 years

What is the best Progress measurement systems on the Market.

I am looking for a Software package that think assigning ROC in line with Deliverables and linking to the Schedule.

WOW I need something that Link Milestone to the schedule and not the deliverable.

If you know of any such commercial available system it would be nice to hear about them. (And the Web link)

Regards

Jay

Extension of Time Request

Dear Planners,

The situation I want you all to advise me on is,

  1. We are a group of companies and having a building project in Dubai (UAE) as the main contractor and contractually liable to finish the project on March 10, 2011. Prior to my joining, we were 180 days behind the schedule in foundation (piling & shoring) work and could not get the extension of time for the said delay, which I think due to lack of knowledge and experience.

Project Value Improving Practices

You may be interested to know that the Institution of Engineering and Technology have teamed up with the Association of Cost Engineers, tasked with delivering a suit of free events and on-line offerings to address value improving practices.

They are going to kick this off with a webcast on improving the implementation of Lessons Learned on the 18th February 14:00 GMT.  The chat room that will accompany the webcast enables the audience to pose questions to the panel and will also be open to the floor as to what the Project Control community would like

Direct & Indirect Crew? Who are they??

Dear Planners,

As i know and i use, direct crew is the person who is directly giving progress to activity (carpenter doing formwork, rebar crew, piping crew etc). and indirect crew is person who is helping that activity (to direct crew) to give progress (scafholder, crane operator, manlift operator etc.)

I have a question. Think that, we have piping works at +10.00 high. You can execute this work in 2 ways; 1st you can install scaffhold 2nd you can use manlift(?).

Performance Factor (What do you use?)

Dear planners;

As you know, for performance factor tracking we all use unit planned man hours. What i always do is; at the beginning of the project i forecast unit manhour for activity and i update it next forecast (in 3 months period). For exampe, for steel structure erection in forecast 1 i assumed 30 manhours per ton. Than i realized that actual at site is 32.
