Risk Calculation

Suppose the contract contains a penalty clause of $40,000 per month for a late delivery of THE  SYSTEM.  There is general agreement among the technical team that they have a 50% probability of being late by one month, a 10% probability of being late by two months and a 5% probability of being late by three months.  What is your risk exposure?

scheduled delivery is after 24 month and 3 month for beta testing ..(info if needed)

NEC3 CE and programme ahead of schedule

Hi,

We have a contract where there is an accepted programme which shows the planned completion and a completion date. Due to a compensation event no 1 the planned completion and completion date has been extended by 2 days.

Due to good weather progress has been ahead of schedule on site but now another CE has raised which will effect the critical path.

As the planned completion is now 2 days ahead of schedule, ie what it was prior to CE 1, is the contractor entitled to claim the 2 days delay costs (preliminaries) that has already been implemented in CE1.

What tips can you give for a new Project Manager?

I saw this article (http://apexgloballearning.com/blog/project-management-professors/) with some useful tips, but I want to hear your real-life tips and experiences especially on the issues you've encountered when starting as a project manager.

Hope to hear from you all.

start, finish and total float float

Greetings to All.

(it might be a stupid question)

In P6 project layout we use start, finish and total float columns. we have original duration too. My question is on what basis total float is calculated. because total float = late start- Early start or late start - early start

and we dont enter any kind of early or late start or finsh shedule, but still total float is provided. how is it possible.

(Thanks in Advance)
