proper methodology for implementing weight of the items in EPC projects

Hi, hope everything is going well. i am working as a planning engineer in electrical substation in Egypt. For a while, I have been searching for a proper methodology in order to sustain a real weight of the items comparing to all of the project.

Most of the companies use cost basis methodology which shows no impact of the critical path and some use time basis methodology which shows no impact of the cost of the items.

Hi, I have 15 years of project management experience (General contacting, not oil and gas) and 12 years as a turnaround scheduler and scheduling manager on a large oil refinery. I am looking for new challenges and would like to try my hand at forensic scheduling (claims) Could anyone please recommend some reading material or other resources that I can get my teeth into as well as any advice on how to get into this discipline Many thanks James

Forensic scheduling

Hi,

I have 15 years of project management experience and 12 years as a turnaround scheduler and scheduling manager on a large oil refinery. I am looking for new challenges and would like to try my hand at forensic scheduling (claims)

Could anyone please recommend some reading material or other resources that I can get my teeth into as well as any advice on how to get into this discipline

Contract Modification to Descope - Delete Schedule Activities?

Hi everyone - if your customer wants a contract modification to descope part of the project, do you keep the schedule activities for that scope remain in the schedule (with a modified activity name showing it's been deleted per the modification, 0 days duration, etc), or do you simply delete the activities? Wondering if keeping the renamed activities is beneficial to the final as-built schedule, but if outright deleting would be less confusing to the owner.

Planned Resources Analysis Monthly

Hi,

Currently I'm preparing planned resources (machinery & manpower) required for the project in monthly frequency. However, there are two ways in assessing the planned and resources (perhaps different user different method). The method (in my opinion and others) as per below listing:

1) Average usage of machinery, which refers to total cumulative machinery moblilize daily sum (for the month) divided with average working day (24 days used).

2) Maximum mobilize per day in that particular monthy (which will represent the whole month).

EPC with emphasis on Procurement.

Please i have issues measuring the progress with Ordered and delivered material. I built in every material in my program but the performance % complete keps reading zero wheni filter for procurement. How can i deal with this.
