For those of you working for a 'client' do you insist / stipulate that the contractor submit the schedule source files, be it .xer, mpp etc.. at the reporting period?

I need a guidline regarding my project.Our client wants the schedule to be loaded with manhours and do not require the trade wise manhours.my question is that when we use the term manhours in general,Does it means only labor units or non-labor units will be included also? please reply.its urgent

My client has asked that I provide a report listing only those activities that were progressed or completed for that particulf update period.
I know I could easily creat a code to tag the progressed avtities but would much rather run a filer or global change.
I would be very beholden should any one have a any suggetion?

i am nearly to prepare comprehensive plan for the interior works and MEP(Mechanical,electrical,plumbing) for the Tower that we are building. structural works is ongoing and soon we will mobilize to start with the MEP work.
Currently i should plan the other activities and logics in exact order to control of MEP works and overlap them with others.
i have identified essential activities per floor which comprises everything:
removing props;
concrete repair works;
block works(masonry);
waterproofing;
MEP 1st fix;

I recently got my first job as a trainee planning engineer for a medium sized main contractor in the UK. I am mainly producing tender programmes using ASTA, I am mostly guesstimating at the minuite and making sure i stick to the overall dates which the client request.
The thing is my actualy construction knowledge is limited, so I have no real clue of what tasks are involved in say a refurbishment or a new build leisure centre or of the durations and order these tasks come in.

How to Calculate/Estimate the resources for structural fabrication and erection of conveyors system(Crushers House, Junction towers, trestles, galleries, bracings) in Coal based thermal power plant of Qty-8000 MT.
Suggest tools for planning in structural steel works and Billing for sub constractors.
Can anyone give me some guidance on what would be considered an excessive amount of schedule lag? I’ve been told anything over 30 days would be considered excessive and indicate logic issues within the schedule.

I have an issue importing P3 Files into P6.v7 in win 7 . When I go to file and choose import and check box to select project then press next this msg appear " an application event has been intercepted please note the event code for reference ECLUS-0337-4 and it appears for import any p3 files
I’ve tried to import it but i can’t find the solve
Can anyone shed any light on why I cannot import these P3 files into P6?
