I'm wondering if there's any way to filter or create a report for activities that have an open end. By open end I mean it doesn't have an activitiy tied to its start and/or its finish. I'm not just looking for activities that are missing a predecessor or successor; rather, I want to find activities that don't have either a FS or SS predecessor, or a FS or FF successor. (I'm not even going to bother with SF relationships).

I have created a resource, say labor with 8/day as Default units per time. His Max allocated time is also 8/day While allocating him on 4 activities simultaneously over same duration and same start and finish date.

The requirement of my one year project is to prepare a report based upon the manhours and Materials. The progresss should be shown based on that only. I have assigned Manhours of and Non material resource into each activity of the project. I need the output from that, Please explain to me to obtain output of Manhours as well as Non material progress updation and results. They also want result in such a way that 40 percent weightage on manhours and 60 percentage based on Material resource progress.
I would like to know what is the criteria for creating resources in terms of maximum units per time. If I set a resource for 1h/d it means that I am going to load it based on manhours required for the activity (Not sure if this method is correct or not). If I set the resource for 8h/d then I should load it against actual man-days required for the activity. My question is, which is the correct method? Or if both are wrong what is the correct one.

I'v created baseling schedule contains over 7000 activities. I have to update them now by activity % complete. Is there and fast way to update them by excel if I have the data already in excel?
