09.0 - MANAGING PROJECT PROGRESS

GPCCAR - 09.0 - MANAGING PROJECT PROGRESS looks like if a book from from Bobbys World, is surreal and misleading. It is not how it is done, it is not best way as it does not represent a practical approach.

The proposed approaches are not used by any contractor I know.  US Contractors are smarter and use more pragmatic approaches to managing projects, schedule updating and job costing.

Managing Contingencies

Hi

May be its me and missed the topic. Just wondering if we have Managing Contingencies topic covered in "Project Controls Compendium and Reference (GPCCAR). This is highly important during project execution to manage contingencies to control, analyze for effective / profitable execution.

Just thought of bringing it up.

Cheers Ritika

GPC still a going concern?

Hi Jo or anyone else from GPC,

Can you give us a bit of an update on what is going on with the GPC please? The fellowship applications process seems to have completely stalled, and I can't find any evidence of any activity in any area from GPC since June.

-No new content added to the GPC library since June, as far as I can tell

-List of members on the GPC section of PP showing as "awaiting applicant" is large and, certainly in my case the status is innacurate -I've submitted everything required

Fellow Application Process

M
Mike Testro 👤 Member for 20 years 5 months

Hi fellow applicants.

I have been taking some time exploring the guild application process for Fellow (Black Belt) level at delay analysis.

I have found it to be a mares nest of interlocking websites that take you to no clear destination - unless it is back to where I started.

It also appears that you have to have at least 6 publications in the PP library plus 3 references from clients / employees etc.

No account needs be taken of my years of practice at expert level plus the publications available from my website.

I have therefore given up.
