The Victorian Main Replacement Programme (VMR) was Thames Water largest capital project for the regulated period and the largest civil engineering programme in Europe. As a Lead Cost & Planning Controller I was responsible for the programme planning, cost control and reporting for over 90 projects, with a total value of £200M a year. Main duties included supporting the Senior Team in delivering the programme safely on time, within budget and to specification though the management of the production and maintenance of programme schedules resource and cost plans.

• Ensure that programmes are updated and monitored against agreed contractor schedules
• Review the Contractor’s P6 programme regularly, providing information to the management team in order to control resources, programmes, projects and contractors performance

Accountable for monitoring and forecasting accounts as well as resource planning for eighty engineering projects, from design through to final commissioning and archiving

Meeting 100% of targets in the production of accurate end of month variance reports and managing complex re-profiling of accounts and resource planning

Collaborating with project managers and quantity surveyors to develop accurate forecasts and to manage resources and finances to a high standard

Planning Engineer / Project Coordinator on the southern leg of the London Water Ring Main.

Cost biased role for the Dirty Water projects for the largest Water Utility company

Most projects were based around Feasibility Studies and were contracted out for construction.

Responsible for circa 30+ small packages and worked with 3 project managers to record and track progress.

Developed a white paper to suggest how to utilise the aged Project Controls systems to get a stronger handle on Project Controls.
