Following a successful career at AMP (Asset Management Plan) 5, I was seconded to work on Galliford Try – Southern Water Partnership (GTSWP) AMP-6 contract to deliver Water and Waste Water Treatment projects within the western half of Southern Water’s area (West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight). Contract value: £250m.
GBM (Galliford Try, MWH Global and Mott MacDonald Joint Venture) was awarded two Thames Water Framework AMP-5 contracts to carry out capital works. The framework comprised over 160 projects and is worth in excess of £300m. My role involved programme and project management. The array of projects included clean water, wastewater, SCADA and SEMD works. The project sizes varied from £20k to £60m.

• Support the planning function, which involves creating and managing project schedules at a detailed level.
• Work closely with senior management, project teams, design teams and sub-contractors to maintain accurate and up to date data for different stages of projects.
• Track and evaluate progress of live sites and the pre-construction phases
• Produce fully logic linked programmes - pre-construction, tender, project (short term and full programmes).
• Attend meetings to gather/request information relating to programme implications.

Started with GT as a tender planner in their infrastructure division. Originally in rail and later general civils including many coastal defence schemes

Project Management + Control
Working within the BFA I was responsible to the Contracts Manager for planning all the works in Scotland being carried out under that contract. Projects were planned through their full life cycle from GRIP Stage 3 to 8, including logic linked technical, commercial, procurement and physical work activities phased through option selection, option development/outline design, detailed design, construction testing and commissioning, scheme hand back and project closeout. The projects included complete station refurbishments, major re-roofing, train she
