I am highly skilled in all aspects of project controls, risk management, general business operations and programme management. My background in project management has provided me with excellent project control and program management skills. I have directly contributed to the development and implementation of standard programme management concepts, strategies, techniques and contingency plans.
Throughout my professional career, I have gained experience in supervision, personnel administration and training of technical and non-technical personnel. This has been facilitated through my strong interpersonal skills and my proven ability to work well with other individuals at all levels. My previous and current work experience, in all aspects of Project Management as well as my engineering knowledge, will be used to strategically direct team members to achieve all goals and objectives. I have excelled and continue to improve on my ability to manage team members, assisting Upper Management, managing Stakeholder requirements and coordinating with Government agencies to ensure that the goals and requirements of the project(s) are fulfilled.
I continue to educate myself and am currently involved in numerous Professional Institutions so as to stay current with all new trends, software packages and keep as up-to-date as possible with the PM/Engineering Field. I feel that keeping updated with current industry changes helps maintain the team’s sense of innovation and creativity.
I joined KEO International Consultants (United Arab Emirates) with the recommendation of my previous supervisors in 2008. I originated the Project Management Office for the Infrastructure Division of KEO International Consultant, and have earned the trust of my team members. Through my work ethic, my reliance and dependability has been demonstrated.
Some examples of my productive working relationships are briefly described here. One example is my review and modification of the KEO financial model. The modifications were done through the PMO and finalisation was completed within a month. The financial model is a current company tool used by KEO. I have attended meetings with the Client for the project of Consultancy Services for Assessment of Sewerage and Treated Sewage Effluent Assets in Western Region of Abu Dhabi Emirates. I continue to coordinate with Project planners to complete and revise the schedule management plan due to late delivery of Master plans from the government. Also, I have closely coordinated with the project managers of Public Realm Master Plan for three cities in Abu Dhabi and develop and maintained the Status Report of Deliverables and Milestones. I have initiated Risk Management Plan for the Abu Dhabi Financial Centre and Das Island Project. I have developed quality assurance procedures based on best industry practices.
I have allocated a personal budget for self-development. I also maintain a number of memberships of professional organizations such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, Project Management Institute, UAE Society of Engineers and Engineers Sri Lanka. I am member of Project Management Institute. I am planning for registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (REPQ) soon. In my personal time, I read trade, engineering and project management magazines, books and internet articles/forums to maintain up-to-date knowledge. I have developed a character of always being available to fulfil my work requirements and address any concerns/issues that arise promptly.
My hands on experience of all facets of the project can be utilised to improve the quality of civil and transport infrastructure projects. I will utilise practical knowledge of the requirements of the Environmental Protection Act, the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations, and Council’s corporate policies. Development of Proactive response to risks with appropriate contingency plan can be reduced project and financial risk.
