My belief in Programme Management and its key involvement in management to any project is strong. Coming from the days of when perception of programme can come from a single mind I anticipate is over.
The power of a good programme commercially creates a strong position and if followed creates a safe environment for all undertaking the physical work. This matters as ones man’s single minded view of programme later resulted in fatality. Luckily I had left the project at this point and that PM no longer works in that company. The programmes safeguard everyone both financially and safely.
I know that I can help your company strive for great Project Management, incorporating great Engineering within a symphony of Programmes. I’m passionate about my work and you’d be correct to assume it's a hobby. The belief I have in executing a plan that works is why I can go home knowing that I satisfied both my employer and my team.
My ambition is to be part of a Task Squad that circulates around projects and finds opportunity within the programme, integrating PMIS and educates staff on how to achieve it. Monthly reporting of programme I feel isn't enough and encouraging PMIS via Programme is the future and defines the Programme in a more visual way. It strengthens the position of any company and defies more argument with the client. Within the PMIS we would outline the PMI’s/PMC’s and demonstrate the cause on Programme so that it cannot be argued so frequently. An information model that would blow the client mind but with fact, not interpretation. I believe in the Middle East this is required. With what I have been exposed to in the Middle East has been less than sufficient and I would very much like to be the person to lead your planning to excellence.
Working for a company that explores my ideas is crucial to my future, these techniques I share with you will change contract relationships but my focus will always be on my employer and my honesty can be directed by the Project Director/Project Managers. Above all lets get the job done and everyone goes home safe.
Some Key Achievements so far was completing a 46m acceleration deal on Crossrail, for all LUL interfaces, Systems & MEP fitout. taking 5 months to sign off. Though it was hard work it was one of the most satisfying events of my career.
My latest assignment was to take 21 projects in Riyadh and influence & guide the contractors to western standards in submitting programmes with content that can be measured and make sure that the contractors work to programme.
71% of the projects achieved an accepted baseline, others either didn't have a planning engineer or wanted to play their contract to the letter. Even so, it cannot be said the last time any Stormwater Project in Saudi Arabia had achieved that. Whilst this was underway I was training the Saudi Nationals, the Supervisor Consultants and the Amanah.
This enabled us to integrate programmes with PMIS and provide dashboards and drill downs for all levels of authority from the Mayor of Riyadh to PM Level.
