Curriculum Vitae - Tony Adams

Tony is a very experienced professional Planning and Project Controls Manager with excellent experience gained working with both clients and contractors. His career started on site as a Civil Engineer, where he gained invaluable experience as an Engineer, Section Engineer, Senior Engineer and Estimator of both low and high value projects, before turning his attention to Planning and Project Controls where he has focussed for the past 20+ years. He started planning when planning packages operated through non-windows based operating systems and has an abundance of experience with Primavera products, having used P3 and P6 since their launch.

His 25+ years experience has included a diverse set of industries and working with both contractors and clients on major and minor projects and investment programmes. This has given Tony a unique set of skills and an ability to apply the good practices gained from his extensive experience. Having worked within the Water (AMP 3, 4 & 5), Rail, Nuclear, Roads & Bridges, Energy & Power related industries, and having been responsible for instigating, developing and nurturing the skills and processes within teams and organisations, he has been able to exert the correct leadership and team influences for projects to succeed to programme and cost.

Tony is extensively experienced in Earned Value & KPI techniques, reporting, analysing and suggesting improvements & mitigations to be considered by senior project management and board members. He has also gained SC security clearance.

Whilst working as a contractor through his business iPlan4U Limited, Tony also takes great pride in completing his contract periods with clients - as his CV demonstrates - and can provide glowing references.
