I am a Project controls/ Planning Manager with around 15-years of professional experience within the construction industry. I have had the opportunity to have worked on a wide variety of projects, from small refurbishment and fit out to large and complex projects such as Waste water Treatment plant. My specialist areas are cost and resource-loaded programming/Scheduling, cost control/analysis, Time Impact Analysis (TIA), Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and dynamic project reporting and dashboards, Project Planning, Data Analytics Programme & Project controls.
My experience is both on the Contractor and Client-side and throughout the full project lifecycle from feasibility through to Construction and close out scheduling. As a degree-qualified Civil Engineer, I have a solid understanding of varied construction methods, I am fully conversant with modern integrated planning and project controls techniques such as Critical Path and Earned Value Analysis; risk, cost and change management, and is a keen supporter of the adoption of lean principles into the construction industry.
I am an extremely committed, self-disciplined, motivated and trustworthy team leader and member who is adaptable and pro-active, conducting my role with a challenging, questioning attitude and continuously strive to implement innovation and Project Controls improvement initiatives.
Over the past 7 years working as a Project Controls Manager within a Project Management Consultancy, has predominantly been brought onto commissions with the intention of assessing current PMO functions and gathering stakeholder requirements to develop innovative solutions, streamline processes and advise clients through the change process essentially being an integrated systems capability, expert programme set-up and intervention resource.
I have been working within a collaborative environment at Anglian Water within the @one Alliance, helped to align AW business and PMO strategies by coordinating with multiple stakeholders, demonstrating a strong work ethic and the ability to work within teams to drive continuous improvement and derive value. Leading and enabling clients in becoming more informed and intelligent by empowering them with their own data. Using descriptive and predictive models to optimise risk management, contract management and PMO functions for major programme clients. I developed and maintain good working relationships with project delivery managers and other internal stakeholders to understand and meet individual people and project needs, escalating issues and problems as appropriate
Within Anglian Water, I led in the management and preparation of business cases and sanction/funding release applications in a timely manner ensuring no delays and in the management of internal and external change control process. accountable for managing a team of Cost Engineers, Risk and Change and Schedulers professionals to ensure an integrated schedule is produced to cover cost, scope, risk and change to allow for strong Project Controls. Close liaison with client, senior management, delivery managers, and Tier 1 Contractors.
Implemented and managed governance process for cost control, work scope, risk & trends and performance management process for Welsh water.
Using my extensive knowledge and technical experience, I can guide and recommend the best approach for harnessing, managing and for realising the benefits of their data too; drive performance, support management decisions, running risk scenarios and understanding potential impacts and lastly, to provide clients with leverage for when dealing with supply chain. I have developed a series of solutions including interactive dashboards, which help to unlock meaning from data to drive better decisions.
As part of the reporting improvements I introduced a formal governance structure to the Project Board including the principle of ‘Holding to Account’ at functional level. Legacy behaviours needed to be addressed to improve schedule quality which included introduction of a Governance Calendar and workshops to develop a high-level Baseline as well as stripping out inaccurate and inappropriate detail whilst adopting rolling wave planning.
I Successfully implemented a programme risk approach across the delivery partners, including supporting process and system tools to enhance the risk management process like Optimising the existing @One Alliance risk management activities including identification, assessment and active management of the threats and opportunities, in compliance with the client's objectives. Introduced regular monthly risk reviews to evaluate effectivity of mitigation actions and identify any new risks, Enhancement of the monthly risk management metrics and reports, ∙ Increased the risk culture within the Alliance; providing training, mentoring and support to the project teams, Lead the Alliance risk management function, and administered the risk registers
I believe, I would bring all the experience into your organisation
Many Thanks
