My name is Carlos Lobato Santos and I obtained a Bachelor Degree of Mechanical Engineering and a Master Degree of Industrial Engineering (field: Industrial Organization) from the University Carlos III of Madrid.
I am currently working at the “project control department” of one of the most important engineering companies in Spain, Técnicas Reunidas. Using the Primavera P6 and other project control software, I have been in charge of the development and the control of the following engineering disciplines plans: Civil, Piping, Mechanical, Heat Transfer, and Vessels. Among others, I have developed the procurement cycle plan for the requisitions of the discipline that I mentioned before. Furthermore, one year ago I realized that we wasted too much time calculating the project’s progress, so I decided to develop macros, designed for the automation of the project progress measurement (Engineering, Procurement, and Equipment and Bulk manufacturing). This produced a decrease of the 500% of the required time to calculate my project progress. Once I implanted these macros in my project, I modified them to fit with the requirements of the progress measurement in other projects of the company. I have also supported project engineers in the analysis of deviation because of the change orders of the project. In addition, I have been in charge of the client and internal reporting.
Furthermore, I am in charge of Risk Management: Identification and evaluation of the risk that impact to the project execution. Study of the action to be done in order to mitigate the risk effects. Follow up of all the actions proposed.
I am a very easy going and open-minded person who feels comfortable working in teams and in an international environment. I am a very responsible and hardworking person who likes to overcome new goals.
