Dear Ms Geddes,
I am writing to apply for the position of a Graduate Planner as advertised on Planning Planet. I have a BSc degree in Building and I have recently completed my MSc degree in Construction Project Management at The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
One of the key attractions of the Graduate Planner role for me is the numerous opportunities the position will provide for personal development and career advancement. Outside the academia, I have worked as a Graduate Assistant Project Manager with Courtney Michael Partnership Nigeria Limited where I collaborated with the cross-functional project team to produce project plans and schedules. My roles here further required extensive project monitoring, controlling and stakeholder’s management within a global virtual team environment. I have attached my CV detailing my work experiences for your perusal.
Amongst the skills I developed whilst working here are best practice project planning and control skills (using MS Project 2010), excellent organisational, negotiation, problem solving, analytic and strategic thinking skills. I am very confident that the knowledge and skills I possess are transferrable and will help me meet the requirements of an Graduate Planner with your client.
I hope that this short letter is enough to register my interest in the Graduate Planner position. I am available for interview at any time and look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Richard Akaigwe
