Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to review my application.
I would also like to take this opportunity to give you more information about me that you won’t find on my CV.
I am an intelligent, articulate individual with a drive to succeed and further my career. I am able to communicate well with people on all levels and able to develop lasting relationships in any given situation. In my current position at Driver Trett this has been made evident by the company asking me to champion our Business Development unit for our region. I am a very easy going individual with a great sense of humour.
I take my career very seriously and wish to develop my career into an expert witness role in the future. I enjoy working on the difficult projects in order to learn and grow within my role, and I firmly believe I learn more from a single difficult project than I could learn on any given course I could attend. I believe it is through this approach that I have been able to develop my career to where it is today. This is evident in my secondment from Basil Read Matomo to Basil Read Head Office. I was asked to join Basil Read Head Office for the sole purpose of assisting projects in distress. A role that I was able to fill with great success. I accepted an off from Driver Trett after a period of 18 months of continually being head hunted by them. I eventually accepted their offer in order to further my career by working alongside some of the better known expert witnesses in the industry.
I have worked on a number of various projects in varying sectors, such as, conventional power generation, renewable power generation being wind farms and photo voltaic farms (Solar power farms), process plants, rail, mining as well as construction. I am comfortable in either an EPC or an EPCM environment.
I have very strong Planning and Scheduling skills using both Microsoft Projects and P6. I am currently developing my delay analysis and contractual skills as I seem to have a natural ability to thrive in a claims and commercial environment. This is also evident through the methodologies I apply to my planning and scheduling roles, as I will always develop a schedule using the CPM methodology in order to be able to impact the schedule with any delays or changes that may arise during the project. I am a logical thinker with very strong problem solving abilities. I am able to step back and see the bigger picture on projects and able to mitigate risk through this ability. I am able to grasp new concepts and methods very quickly and am able to apply those concepts and methods successfully in a very short time.
