I am an experienced engineering project manager with extensive experience of planning and financial control within high tech, safety critical programmes.

I have been involved in the delivery of electric and mechanical engineering, design and manufacturing technical solutions for over 25yrs and have professional recognition from the UK Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer. I also have an MSc in Project Management from the Universityof Manchester and am a member of the joint IET and ACostE Executive Committee for the advancement of Project Controls.

I am currently the Estimating and Planning Manager leading the planning and estimating functions for a nuclear site licensed company working on the decommissioning of the UK’s legacy nuclear research facilities. I have responsibility for developing the capability of the individual planners and estimators and ensuring they can meet the challenge of the business.  One of my key accountabilities is Configuration Management and managing the change control process to ensure that impact to cost and schedule are fully understood.

I also have responsibility for delivering project execution performance reviews to ensure that schedules and estimates are  maintained, updated  and risk assessed in line with process and happen on a regular basis. I produce monthly reports to communicate cost and schedule performance in line with earned value management best practice.

I have a good operational understanding of a broad range of estimating and planning software tools including MS Project, Primevera P6, US Cost Success and Enterprise, WinEst, PertMaster and <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />SAP. I also think that I’ve successfully changed industries and demonstrated my ability to transfer the generic project management and project control skills and experiences I have developed over a number of years

I believe that I have the right skills and experience that would enhance the current capability of most organisations.
