I am applying for the role of a Planner in response to the advertised job. I am currently a Project manager, Planner and PMO Coordinator at Cummins Generator Technologies. As you can see from the three roles I currently provide to the organization, "I am a jack of all trade"!
I joined Cummins Generator Technologies in August of 2010 as a PMO Coordinator after a year's study at the Robert Gordon University and a brief but successful stint at Balmoral tanks, Aberdeen.
After only 6 months within Cummins, I have implemented simple but practical changes in compliment to other efforts at improving product planning function. In only 6 months, my contribution has been noticed and lauded by the executive management, functional managers, project managers and team members especially for the work I have lead in right-sizing the project portfolio by analyzing the resource requirements across multiple on-going projects. This has been even more crucial considering that there is a lack of intelligent enterprise resource management system such as Primavera or MS project server.
I could only achieve the above by utilizing two of my greatest assets - communication and dealing with people. I am also a keen listener, learner and technology enthusiast. I believe I will make a good addition to your team if what you require is an individual with not only the technical ability but the fresh ideas and a mannerism that facilitates change.
