As can be seen from my Résumé, I have a total of over 12 years of experience in Contract Management, Project Management and Development Works involving Project Coordination, Contracts Negotiation and Administration, Planning and Development out of which I am presently working as the Director of Contracts with M/s SODIC , one of the leading real estate investment companies in Egypt and the Middle East. The company has a wide range of mixed-use developments ranging from residential, offices, hotel and shopping malls in both Egypt and Syria. The highlights of my experience are as follows:
· Present assignment (January 2010 till present) is with M/s SODIC as a Director of Contracts; SODIC is one of the leading developers with a diversified portfolio of ongoing major projects, including residential, retail, hotel & commercial projects of an estimated total value of 3 Billion Egyptian Pounds. Here I lead the Contracts department in preparing, negotiating, administering the company contracts with management and consultancy firms, suppliers and contractors for the companies projects. In addition, the Contracts department is responsible to preparing the companies forms and procedures in relation to Contracts preparation, management, closeout and delegation of authority.
· Previous assignment:
Mina Rashidbeing employed with M/s Nakheel as a Contracts Manager responsible for contracts with a value exceeding 3 billion dirhams. Here, I work in close coordination with the development and project management teams and the companies corporate procurement in order to prepare, to administer and coordinate the required contracts in order to ensure proper and timely handover of the project and within the allocated budget.
During the credit crunch in 2009; I worked closely with Nakheel legal team to close out the contracts to minimize the companies liability and exposure.
Palm Jumeirah Villas Project of M/s Nakheel being employed with Project Management Consultants M/s Hill International as a Claims Analyst and Package Manager – CPI (Client Procured items). Here, I work in close coordination with Nakheel Project Staff to administer and coordinate the various Project Management, Development and Contractual issues to their entire satisfaction.
My experience in the project included Project management and coordination including overseeing approvals of shop drawings, materials and method statements, receiving & reviewing progress reports and payments and responding to progress and contractual issues. In addition to awarding new contracts as required which includes inviting the relevant contractors to quote as per specs. & drawings, comparative analysis of received contractor’s quotations, preparing comparative statements leading to the eventual award of Contracts by issuing Letters of Intent and Acceptance.
In addition to the above I also participated in the Contractual claims management including identification of variations & time affecting factors, claims notification, evaluation, substantiation as per relevant FIDIC/ Contractual clauses, negotiation and approval for extra payments, EOT & day works claims and contracts close out.
With M/s Technological & Electrical Systems Co. (TES)in which I oversaw and managed multi-million, multi-phased project for manufacturing equipment for cement lines in the USA and Nigeria with a combined total of 3,000 tons of equipment yearly.
Oversaw project procurement and logistic activities including importing raw material and exporting manufactured goods.
Development role included the introduction of TES to several American and European leading industrial companies, expanding the clients’ base and retention of key clients and participation in setting the marketing strategies of the company.
· Initial Assignment was with Alexandria Co. for Real Estate Investment, the company developed the Four Seasons Hotels in Cairo, Sharm El Sheikh and Alexandria (Egypt), in addition to several mega residential projects. My role on multi-projects was as follows:-
Participated in the evaluation and selection of consultants, project management companies and contractors. Moreover, I also participated in preparing and awarding their contracts; Followed-up and reported projects status to the top management; Reviewed and approved the monthly invoices for the Project Manager, Consultants, General Contractor, Subcontractors and Suppliers and assisted in monitoring the project progress; and Participated in the settlement of claims.
