I am very interested in the role of Planner which you are advertising on the Railway People
Currently I am working as a Planner for WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff Ltd in Manchester, where I am engaged on several different rail projects at varying stages, from tenders up to GRIP Stage 5, for schemes across the northwest of England. Updating progress, Resource/Cost loading programmes, baseline analysis, % complete on various stages.
Prior to working for WSP | PB, I spent 10 months as a Planner/Delay Analyst on the Riyadh Metro in Saudi Arabia. My role involved liaising with all disciplines to create accurate baseline programmes. I monitored change control and updated the programme to the client’s change notices, issuing monthly updates to internal and external clients. Other duties included monitoring/updating working and client programmes, creating earned value analysis, monitoring performance to KPI’s and issuing periodic cost-to-date and cost-to-complete information to Project Managers.
I have also previously worked on the Dubai and Doha Metro, and also the Haramain High Speed Rail Link from Mecca to Jeddah. I assisted the Planning Director with the Tender submissions and produced Tender and Baseline Programmes for the Civils, Viaducts and Tunnelling contractors; utilizing P6 and Tilos linear programming, I created the time/chainage diagrams and reports for the Haramain HSR. Prior to this I also served with H.M.Forces, spending five years with the Royal Navy where I qualified as a Communications Engineer.
