Has the Principal planning engineer at BP Wytch Farm. I am responsible for ensuring that all of the schedules of work for the TAR,Well heads, Operations & Engineering are reviewed at the 2,6&12 week point Prior to plan freeze at the 2 week point for work execution. Using Primavera P6.7,P6Advanced (106p), M-Soft Project 2003 & Maximo. I also ensure that the site manager and core management are updated with the current progress of their site(s) on a day to day basis as well as implementing contractor’s schedules into the overall schedule and also the implications of not achieving scheduled milestones/deadlines etc on time/budget, which could affect the CPI and SPI adversely. The multi disciplines covered within the schedules include Wellheads, Pipelines, E&I SIP  to name but a few of the varied and diverse aspects of this multi discipline Site, in an high pressure and demanding role.

 

 

Planning Manager – Scottish & Southern electricity (PJD)Warrington Feb-Jul 10

 

This role incorporates the day to day maintenance, asset planning and outage (TAR) of this 2 gigowatt coal/Biomass power station. The software currently in use is Microsoft project 2007/Maximo v6 and I am currently over seeing the commissioning of P6.7 to replace MS Project post outage. I have a planning team of several immediate planners and several contracting companies to achieve all the requirements of the end client. I find this position extremely fulfilling & satisfying.

 

Senior consultant planning Engineer – Faithful & Gould Nov 2009.

 

My task was to review and report on the construction of a Bio-ethanol plant under construction for Aker/Vivergo at BP Saltend, Hull and provide a level 1-2 report for senior management within 10 working days. The software used for the review was primavera P6.2.1. I reviewed all the NORMS, critical path analysis, S curve’s etc. and compiled a report for submission for the end client via Faithful & Gould.

 

Maximo Maintenance  Consultant – Bluewater (Shell) Aberdeen Jun 2009 – Sep09.

 

To extract Maximo data and for maintenance planning using Maximo, P6 & Microsoft Project as required, for the weekly and shutdown maintenance of several FPSO oil platforms, using the live Maximo operating system. Also importing new data into Maximo (creating new and revised PM, inventories and job plans, Library items full system reviews etc as required, usually several thousand entries), ready for the introduction of Maximo V7 next spring for the on-going successful maintenance of the FPSO’s.

 

Senior Commissioning/Planning Engineer Simon Carves/Ensus Bio-ethanol Project Wilton Nov 08 –Apr09.

 

My primary tasks include the planning and management of Construction and Engineering & commissioning projects for the new build of the ENSUS Bioethanol plant at Wilton international, Middlesbrough. I gather information from PID’s, isometrics, design teams & subcontractors for client schedule reporting purposes. The software I used on this project was, MS Project, Primavera P3 for the management and production of weekly/monthly detailed S curve, histogram charts, critical path analysis, spreadsheets and 14 & 30-day lookaheads for the project manage, company vice president and the client, also. In addition to these tasks, I also manage the alignment of sub-contractor programmes with the master schedule (work and resources for approx 1000 personnel) to ensure that they maintain their SPI target and also the production and execution of commissioning and E&I schedules. This position as senior planner is extremely intense and gives a fulfilling sense of achievement. The multi disciplines covered within the schedules include, EPC (construction, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, pipelines/tracks and E&I) to name but a few of the varied and diverse aspects of this multi discipline Project, high pressure and demanding role.

 

Senior Planning Engineer Jacobs/Total HDS-3 Immingham July 2008 –Oct 2008

I use Primavera P5 for the management of this task to produce weekly/monthly detailed S curve histogram charts and spreadsheets for senior management and the client (Total), 14 day lookaheads, My secondary task is the management of sub-contractors (up to 700 men) and their schedules to ensure that they maintain their SPI target. This position is extremely intense and gives a sense of achievement. The multi disciplines covered within the schedules include, EPC (construction, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, pipelines/tracks and E&I) to name but a few of the varied and diverse aspects of this multi discipline Project, high pressure and demanding role.

 

 

Offshore Senior Planning Engineer Centrica Gas Hull May 2008-July 2008

 

My Primary tasks where to ensure that the TAR, Shutdown schedule and Engineering project schedules where created, maintained and executed in an efficient and timely manner. My second task was to ensure that all the logistics required for a smooth and efficient TAR where in place as and when required offshore. For this task I used Primavera P6 and Maximo as the primary planning tools.

 

Petro-Chemical  Senior Planning Engineer- BP Hull Aug 2007-May2008

 

Has the only senior planning engineer for BP Petrochemicals at Hull Research and Technology Centre (HRTC). I am responsible for ensuring that all of the projects (approx $100m of new design and build Bio-ethanol etc. style plants) are kept on time and within budget using Primavera P3, P5 (P3e), P6, P6Advanced (106p), M-Soft Project 2003 & Maximo. Has a senior planner my role was to plan and schedule the maintenance and financial budgets for the weekly, 3 month & 12 monthly maintenance work schedules. I would have direct control over a variety of resource companies and their assets, as well as the task and field planning team who where also under my control. I was responsible for implementing and installing Maximo upgrades and several other projects on and around the site to reduce costs and improve efficiency. This was an enjoyable and rewarding opportunity.

Engineering Maintenance  Scheduler/Planner – BP Gas  May 2006 – Sep2006

 

 Using P3, MS project and Maximo as my primary planning tools; amongst other software applications to schedule weekly, 3, 18, 36 & 60 month, engineering and maintenance work for multi-discipline teams; Also additional TAR work plans for an additional 250 men, spread between  two gas sites on the Yorkshire east coast.  I am also implementing an asset optimisation strategy for the maintenance and operations teams to

ensure that the maintenance servicing becomes leaner and cost efficient.

 

Engineering Maintenance Planner – E.on UK plc Killingholme Feb 2005 – Mar2006.

 

 Dealing with day-to-day maintenance issues and longer term outage plans for a extremely busy CCGT power station. Using Maximo and also Microsoft Project software.  I planned and generated daily, weekly, outage (TAR) and civil engineering work plans for production, engineering and contracting personnel (up to 300 personnel at busy times).  I also prepared permit for work requests, once I was satisfied that all safety, method and risk assessments where up to the required standards to achieve the safe completion of the tasks. I was also the NEC contract manager for a variety of accounts and services. I negotiated contract costs has required and also generated purchase requisitions and purchase orders as required.

 

 Engineering & Logistics Operations Controller for RAF Benson. Oct 2002–Oct 2004

Responsibilities and achievements: - To plan and manage the engineering (civil, electro-mechanical, avionic and aeronautical) arrangements and logistic support for two squadrons of aircraft at RAF Benson, this also encompasses the building maintenance and support equipment, also permanent detachments overseas. This job encompasses many different management and engineering skills and it as been due to my hard work, loyalty and dedication, which ensured that enough aircraft and spares where available daily. Also to ensure any given task was completed on time and as smoothly as possible. I am also computer literate in the MS operating systems and this has proved to be a useful skill especially when planning and implementing servicing schedules.

Employed on Search & Rescue helicopters and fast jet aircraft.  This job carried huge pressures and responsibilities to ensure that a serviceable aircraft was made available 24/7, 365 days a year.  As engineering shift controller my job requirements were to Asset Plan & manage the shift manpower; identify, manage and deliver the engineering solutions to achieve any given objective. Also ensuring that all the IT systems were correctly and accurately updated daily.
