Please find enclosed my CV in application for this post. I am currently working for BP in Angola as the Subsea Functional Planner. Due to restrictions on work permits in Angola, being a maximum of three years, I am actively seeking a suitable position. My Angolan work permit expires on 06MAY11, however I am available at notice of one month.
You will see that I have an extensive experience in Engineering Planning in general and in particular in Shipbuilding Project Planning & Controls with excellent capability for commercial focus to deliver the project and planning systems to customer requirements within all aspects of this role. I am a very driven and focused individual with highly developed analytical skills but also have an amenable nature. I am happy at communicating at all levels from shop floor through to and including senior director or customers.
I also have experience of working overseas and understand and interface easily with people from many differing cultures from my own.
I am currently using Primavera P6 - and have been recently advanced trained in this application.
I have extensive experience in using Primavera P3 and MSP.
I am also shipyard trained originally commencing my career as a Shipwright after a four year training and apprenticeship program. During that time working with British Shipbuilders and later Kvaerner I progressed through the company after undertaking and an ONC & HNC in Shipbuilding and then received sponsorship from Kvaerner to study for my degree at the University of Strathclyde.
I am fully experienced in all Shipbuilding technical practices and methodologies including Steelwork Production, Block & Build, Integrated Outfitting, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning Systems and timely delivery to customer. I have been responsible for a number of prestigious shipbuilding projects as a Project Planner and more recently with BP in a senior planning role within the Subsea Function.
I am especially interested in this role because it will provide to me a chance to bring all of my past experiences together in a management role to provide to your client an individual of outstanding capability with driven innovation.
I am a Chartered Engineering Professional being registered as a professional engineer with the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET UK) in the UK and hold an honors degree in Engineering - Manufacturing Engineering and Management from the University of Strathclyde, UK.
