Hello, it is with much sadness we report that Juan Marcel van Aswegen, from South Africa, was killed in a car accident on Sunday, 18 October.   Juan had earned his CCP just recently and was working on his Guild's Expert Level credential. Juan was a frequent participant at our project controls workhops and he will be misssed.

We send our very best wishes to his loved ones.

CREATING ELAPSED DURATION ACTIVITIES IN P6

Elapsed Durations...

Activities like “concrete curing” and “process testing” that take place 24 hours per day may be modeled using a 24 hour per day calendar. The disadvantage of this option is that if the predecessor ends at 17:00 then a 5-day curing activity will start and finish at 17:00 and will have float when the successor starts the following morning.

If you wish to understand another way of creating Elapsed Duration activities in P6 then down load an extract of my 99 Tricks and Traps book by clicking on this link>>>

ARES PRISM is a robust project controls system used globally to manage multi-billion dollar megaprojects, but did you know that many of our customers also rely on PRISM for their small and medium-sized projects?

We're showcasing that ability by planning a simple annual holiday party in ARES PRISM! In this webinar, you'll see ARES PRISM in-action as we use the tool to plan and manage a simple project. Get step by step tips on how to use the PRISM Cost, Schedule, Change, and Contracts modules. We will set up control accounts, add change orders, award contracts and more.  Read more...

This 30-minute, 2-part webinar highlights both progress management and performance measurement in ARES PRISM project controls software.

In Part 1, we discuss how to measure progress using various methods in the PRISM Cost Management module. We explore how your progress data can come from scheduling, engineering, MS Project, or even measuring progress at the contract line item level, etc.

In Part 2, you'll learn what you can do with this project progress data by covering performance variance analysis.
