The Position
Our Claims Planners / Delay Analysts / Report Writers tend to work on long-term assignments on major international rail and power projects, based in Japan, as part of a large dispute team with occasional overseas site visits required.
· Reporting to the Claims leader and working in multi-disciplined, multi-cultural teams.
· You will be responsible for the independent assessment of major EOT delays and associated claims on behalf of our clients in the rail and/or power industries.
· Will need to write clear, detailed and convincing claims narrative, applying accepted delay analysis techniques, sound logic and reason in evidence to support your arguments.
· Support dispute resolution and claims services on major international projects and work in conjunction with QSs and Cost Consultants on valuation and cost issues.
Candidate Requirements:
· Must have a strong interest in working in Japan for a British consultancy and explain reasons for seeking a long-term position in Japan
· British BSc Hons Degree
· Around 10-15+ years major project experience in Delay Analysis / Claims Planning / Report Writing in either the rail and/or power (nuclear/fossil fuel) sectors
· Have experience in Arbitration, DABs and other formal dispute resolution, involving cross-examination
· Have a good understanding of the complex technical methods of construction and systems employed in construction of rail and power projects
· Excellent command of spoken and written English combined with professional presentation skills
· Flexibility to travel and work away from Japan base, as and when required
· UK passport holders preferred (preferable for foreign worker visa requirements) Other nationalities will be considered (visa restrictions may apply in some locations)
· Able to relocate to Japan and work single status on a permanent basis in Japan – 30 days annual leave.
· 11 weeks on & 2 weeks off rotation option available
· An understanding of and empathy with Japanese work culture and practices.
· An excellent health record
