Driving, coordinating and delivering a programme and/or projects to meet a customer business plan - you’ll be pivotal to the success of the British Airways’ Customer Programmes teams at. Along the way, you’ll work closely with Programme & Portfolio Managers (PPMs) and their stakeholders alike to make sure programmes/projects deliver agreed targets and measures while utilising professional PM techniques.
Reporting to the department’s PPM to ensure alignment of their projects/programme to the business plan, you’ll build and develop business cases for projects and manage and coach a small team of project managers. We’ll also rely on you to plan and monitor the overall progress of projects, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate with key stakeholders.
Adopting a corporate approach to project management and standardised processes and tools will be key, as will identifying resource requirements and working closely with the PPM to ensure their efficient allocation. And, when it comes to making sure change control is tightly managed, providing project updates or ensuring effective communication with all stakeholders, again, it’s you we'll depend on.
An accomplished project manager who’s used to delivering multiple concurrent cross directorate projects, you’re highly competent in the use of project management methodologies and software tools. You're also used to leading and managing cross-functional project teams in a fast-moving, changeable environment involving new technology/products and working practices. Well-organised, highly motivated and ‘management independent’, you have excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills too. What’s more, you work well under pressure and believe in a ‘one team’ approach, no matter how disparate that team’s members are.
