Junior Project Controls Engineer – London
Junior Project Controls Engineer is currently required by a prestigious consultancy that offers engineering expertise to a diverse range of high value and complex projects globally. The Project Controls Engineer will join a specialist team based in central London and be responsible for preparing multi discipline, resource and cost loaded design programmesin Primavera P6 for a variety of engineering based projects (buildings and infrastructure).
Responsibilities
· Progress updating multi discipline design programmes
· Providing programme based progress reports, inclusive of earned value management and dashboard reports
· Liaison with discipline designers to ensure programmes are current and accurate.
· Assist with the integration of the programme with the other project controls systems.
· Assist with the development of project controls systems.
· Assist with general project management duties.
Candidate
· Knowledge or experience of engineering/ building design would be an advantage but not essential.
· Experience of working on design programmes and knowledge of design processes (eg RIBA, GRIP...).
· Prior experience of using scheduling software, eg Primavera. Microsoft Project also advantageous.
· Good Excel skills are required.
· An understanding of, interest in, and preferably experience in risk management and cost management
· An understanding of the NEC form of contract would be an advantage but not essential.
· Need to be methodical and meticulous.
· Need to have excellent communication and inter personal skills,
· Need to be pro-active and a team player, with flexibility for diverse roles
· Need to be able to work to tight deadlines.
· Good degree qualification in relevant subject; ideally working towards a professional qualification.
