Planner or Planning Engineer – Freelance/Contract – 12 month – Construction – Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, Primavera – Consultancy – Gold Group Ltd
This role is for a leading international consultancy and will be based primarily out of offices in Central London. The consultancy works on projects across construction and that range in value to £500 million. Many of the projects they work on are overseas but coordinated and designed in London.
This role has arisen as my client has recently won a place on an $80 million, 8 storey, luxury hotel construction in Asia. The project has already kicked off and has at least 2 years left in the construction phase. The role would entail a mixture of tender and site planning, the first week will be spend on site in Asia (fully compensated) and after this site visits will be require for 1 week every 2 months to check on the progress of the project. The length of this contract is 12 months full time, some home working is allowed. The software of choice is both Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 may also be used. This role will require candidates to work both as part of a team and on own initiative and the team currently in place includes 1 planner and 2 pms. The rate for this role is £275-£375 per day.
Candidate requirement:
- Site and tender planning experience
- A strong UK main contractor background
- Starting background either in site management, project management or construction management
- Will have experience using Microsoft Project and Asta Powerproject and ideally own copies though this is not essential
- Candidates who can also use Primavera P6 will have an advantage
- Construction project experience preferably within leisure or commercial
- Will already be living and working in the UK
- Interviews will be held on week commencing 1st(2nd) April
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexible enough to travel overseas once every 8 weeks
- Will be client facing
