We are currently looking for a Chief Planning Manager for an Iconic High Rise Development to lead a growing team of experienced Planning Managers, Engineers and Network Control Manager.
Reporting to the Project Director of Planning, this is an excellent opportunity to be seconded to a highly successful main contractor with a defined career progression structure and a very healthy outlook.
You will act as the key point of contact in the delivery of a project management function. Job Details Requirements
- You will be a recognised expert with a minimum of 15 years experience in a similar role at a senior level within the high rise construction environment.
- You have considerable Planning experience showing clear career progression in the planning field through working either client side or for a consultancy.
- Successful applicants will have experience of working on high value, high rise and other building projects coupled with an excellent overall understanding of the construction industry
- Proficiency in the use of Primavera (P3/P5/P6) and MS Project is also essential
- Strong verbal and written communication skills is essential
- The Chief Planner will oversee the following:
- Coordination with the construction team in preparing logistics plan
- Development of Project Schedule
- Coordination with all subcontractors’ planners regarding project schedule, planning requirements and schedule updates.
- Prepartion of Planning , Monitoring and Reporting procedures
- Direct and motivate planning engineers and follow up their performance
- Extension of Time claims and Critical Path Analysis.
- Monitor the projects progress against programme milestones and implement delay recovery actions where necessary.
- Prepare regular progress reports with programme analysis and recommendations, addressing programme issues to ensure timely project completion.
Responsibilities
- Developing the planning department work plan and manages short and long range planning and scheduling functions.
- Establishing and maintaining consistent and adequate procedures, in their field
- Assessment of potential time impact of variations and dissemination of all progress data across packages.
- Provision of time management to the whole project team.
- Ensuring that each Planning Engineer runs his or her section to the highest professional standards, that all information is current, and that every member of the team is receiving the information he or she needs to fulfil their responsibilities.
- Provision of all the technical data, related to project time management, to be included in the Monthly Report and such other reports, exercises or investigations that might be required by the Project Director, the project management team, the Client or external agencies.
- Developing and maintaining the Projects Master Schedules
- Coordinating and managing individual Project Schedulers
- Overview of consultant or contractor schedule reviews
- Schedule claims analysis
- Preparation of special schedules.
- Assessment of potential time impact of variations
- Establish and maintain consistent and adequate administration procedures, in their field. These procedures will be followed across the project by the respective planners working under the Construction Managers.
- Collate, disseminate apply trending.
- Identify, document and coordinate with the Construction Managers to resolve potential issues.
- Analyze information and produce overall reporting and recommendations.
- Provide informational and technical support and guidance for the planners working under the Construction Managers.
- Provide informational and technical support and guidance for the planners and QSs working under the Construction Managers.
- Participate with the project management team, as directed by the Project Director, to achieve project deliverables.
- Providing full efficient and effective services in all technical and contractual aspects of professional practice
- Possess key industry contacts and always be looking to expand upon these
- Implementing the business plan, developing business opportunities in line with the business strategy and looking for marketing opportunities
- Managing structure, routes of reporting, and growth plan for the team including the recruitment of quality candidates
- Collaborating with other disciplines and the clients’ representative
- Preparing fee submissions and the management of project accounts
- Contributing to your office Business Plan and producing your own team business plan in conjunction with RD
- Providing service delivery to clients, demonstrating your role as a key stakeholder and first point of call for these clients
- Fluency with the different procurement methods available in the industry
- Demonstrate an understanding of overall project requirements and the ability to advise client’s knowledgably on overall project costs.
