Planning Manager, Major Construction Project – Saudi Arabia

 

Planning Manager is currently required by a leading International Contractor to join their operations in Saudi Arabia and to be responsible for a major construction project

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Providing management oversight for all phases of the construction project, from Pre-Construction through Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning, including co-ordination of Labour force, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

·        Maintaining Company Standards, whilst respecting and reflecting the abilities and aspirations of the project team and local culture.

·        Acting as the ‘face of the company’ to the Client, both in the tender and delivery process

·        Responsible for managing and coordination of the Project Programme and subordinate planning staff and ensuring that individual project programmes comply with the strategic and contractual requirements of a single or multiple projects.

·        Ensure consistency of programmes and progress reports throughout the project, preparation of initial strategic master programme based on development concepts, advising client/developer on programme for developing phases of the project, feedback to client/developer on effect of proposed changes, assessing impact of delays and changes to ongoing area of the project, liaison with staff from development / marketing / design / construction, advising planning staff on production outputs.

·        Manage projected risks and provide mitigation strategies for successful Project delivery

·        Responsible for monitoring progress, preparing client and internal reports, preparing programme to completion, preparation of time impact analysis programmes as supporting documentation for claim.

·        Responsible for preparation fully co-ordinated, logic linked, resource loaded, Design, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Programmes for projects. Produce Project Method Statements reflecting the Programme intent.

·        Maintains an objective and independent view of the Project’s Progress Position.

 

 

Requirements:

 

·        Possesses knowledge of one complex functional or business area

·        Must have worked in Hospital Planning Projects

·        Track record of success in supporting a major business contract, Business Unit or region and/or providing support to a professional function.

·        Proficient in the use of Primavera planning software, and have extensive experience of using it in a commercial environment.

·        Experience of working on large complex projects of a significant value.

·        Preference will be given to candidates who have worked on a wide variety of major construction projects.

·        You must possess management capabilities, this is a senior role and you will be responsible for setting up a function. This means that in addition to technical attributes and relevant background, you must also have strong interpersonal skills to fulfill this role.

·        Likely to have in excess of 5 to 10 years managerial and/or technical experience.

·        Member of a Professional Body with Intermediate Level Qualifications as a minimum.
