Our Client, a leading engineering and construction company is looking for a Lead Planner / Planning Manager
Job Summary
Implementation and control of the project strategy.
Manage the planning and resourcing on large mechanical projects
Prepare, develop and update integrated programmes
Review project design documentation and any other relevant data to understand the project requirements which may affect the planning process
Change management.
Staff training and development
Key Areas of Responsibility
Good understanding of all drawings, technical specifications and contractual requirements
Prepare Develop an integrated fully resource loaded schedules
Ensuring that the optimum erection sequencing is correctly represented in the schedule
Oversee the weekly schedule progress update, including updating material and activity tracking sheets,
Manage the production of productivity reports, including planned, actual man-hours and earned allocated to activities
Produce a breakdown of labour required for each activity norms and current projects productivity rates
Plan interfaces and anticipate issues with regards commercial, change management, logistics, engineering, material supply and commissioning
Produce high quality daily, weekly reports including and monthly dashboards reports showing KPI histogram's, s-curves and include risks and actions required
Ensure adequate daily planning support is given Construction and oversee the production of detailed short term schedules
Manage a team of Planners, including setting tasks, giving feedback, training and helping with career progression
Have an intimate knowledge of projects risks, and anticipate problems by conducting ?what if? Scenarios
Understand contractual mechanisms including affect of project variations and instructions. Conduct forensic planning to understand the impact of key events
Education and Skills
A relevant University degree or professional qualification Engineering
Advanced user of Primavera P6 and above, including resources and reports
Advanced excel skills including use of graphs and formulas
Experience of working on large projects as the Contractor in an EPC environment
