Project Coordinator, West London, Perm, Defence, Salary up to £33,000

 

This role is for a leading defence and energy contractor and will be based in West London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of various project tasks from the initial proposals through to final delivery. The position will report directly to the Programme Manager. This role will allow the successful candidate to develop into a fully accomplished Project Manager as the business and department grow.

 

To be successful you should have experience of Project Coordination in a technical environment preferably within defence or in a similar engineering industry. You should be an good communicator and be able to demonstrate both effective coordination and administration capabilities. You must have proven experience of managing project databases, coordinating and maintaining project schedules and building stakeholder relationships. If you are a self-starter with the drive and motivation to push for results and improve your skills, then this is the role for you.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Planning and coordination of projects from initial proposals through to final delivery, which involves liaison with suppliers and customers.
  • Coordinating, maintaining and expediting project schedules and milestones.
  • Maintaining project databases including; resource loading, repairs & action items.
  • Generation and contribution of monthly reporting of Performance Metrics and compilation of financial data for internal and external use.
  • Contributing towards customer progress reporting meetings and compilation of associated reports and meeting minutes
  • Maintaining excellent relationships across a complex stakeholder community
  • Adhering to project, subcontract, security and data management policy and processes

 

 

Experience and Skills

 

  • Extensive experience of working in a busy and diverse project environment.
  • Highly competent in the use of MS Office tools such as: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of project management software tools such as: Microsoft Project, EPM, ERP systems.
  • Experience with collating and presenting financial data reports
  • Experienced in Project Lifecycle Management
  • Should be highly organised and experienced at working with deadlines
  • Possess drive, energy and enthusiasm to motivate
  • Experience of subcontract management and customer management would be advantageous.
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Essential:  A Level (or equivalent) in Business Studies or related subject
  • Desirable: Professional project management qualification
  • ESSENTIAL: The successful candidate will be required to be a UK National to satisfy a full security clearance to SC level clearance or ability to obtain SC clearance within 2 months as a minimum.

 

On offer with this role is a salary of up to £33,000 + pension, bonus, car deductible, dental, shopping vouchers, salary review after 3 months and education allowance.
