Senior Planning Engineer – Cheshire – Rail - £55k plus package
Gold Group is currently seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join an established and well known Main Contractor to join their Rail Division in Cheshire. The Senior Planning Engineer will join an already existing team of five other planning engineers and be responsible for a portfolio works involving station refurbishments, rail bridge repairs and reconstruction, tunnel repairs, drainage and permanent way works.
The Senior Planning Engineer will report directly into the divisions Planning Manager and they will be responsible for projects from cradle to grave. The company is currently experiencing a substantial increase in current workloads and so they need to reinforce their current planning capabilities and the Senior Planning Engineer will be given the opportunity to lead and manage a small team in 6-12 months time.
Duties
· Preparation of Tender and Construction Programmes
· Resource & Cost Loading of these Programmes.
· Application of Project and Activity Coding to enable production of “Construction Friendly” Programmes and reports.
· Monitoring of design and construction progress by means of weekly trackers by pro-actively chasing update information.
· Periodic updating of programmes.
· Recording and impacting into programs, Compensation Events, Early Warnings and the like.
· Production of monthly progress reports.
· Work closely with project commercial team in producing financial reports and valuations
The ideal candidate will have 4 to 5 years rail industry planning experience and they will need to demonstrate a high degree of competence in the use of Primavera P6 Planning Software package. In addition to this the candidate should be able to demonstrate hands on experience as either an engineer or site management and from this gained sufficient knowledge to enable them to compile a full construction programme from reference to the contract documentation and drawings with minimal input from the Project Manager. Ideally they should have some experience as a tender planner.
On offer is a basic salary of up to £55,000 plus a main contractors benefits package that comprises of car or car allowance, pension, healthcare etc.
