Assistant Planner or Project Planner, Build & Construction, Asta, Permanent, London & Hertfordshire, Salary up to £44,000 + package
This role is with an international, main contractor with a turnover of close to €5 billion. They work across all sectors with their build and civils division being the most profitable. Projects range in value from £5 million to £5billion. Our clienthas an award winning reputation for their employee development schemes and has one of the industry’s lowest staff turnover rates with the average employee staying for just over 6 years (impressive in this current climate).
Due to a heavy workload and a strong pipeline of work building at a fast pace for the next 5 years, my client has outlined the need to recruit a Planning Engineer to join the growing “Build Planning Team”. This division works on projects across aviation, education, retail, commercial and health care. Projects are situated in and around London, Hertfordshire and Essex. The software of choice in this office is Asta Powerproject and occasionally Microsoft Project.
This position would entail undertaking site visits, site planning and programming, updating programmes weekly with updates of site activities, tender/bid planning for medium to large size schemes, use of Asta Powerproject software, client liaison and presenting, programme management, mentoring of more junior staff/planners, liaising and negotiating with site staff and project managers, preconstruction planning.
Candidate specification:
- Minimum 3 years construction planning experience in a similar role
- Will have a relevant degree or qualification
- Competent user of Asta Powerproject and MSP software
- Will have both site and tender planning experience
- Strong people skills, good written skills, will be a good communicator
- Must have a full UK driving licence, this is essential
- MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO LIVE AND WORK IN THE UK, CANDIDATES WHO DO NOT HOLD A VISA AND WORK PERMIT OR WHO ARE NOT RESIDENTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
