Senior Planning Engineer – South Africa, Johannesburg
Gold Group Ltd is currently partnering an international main contractor to appoint a Senior Planning Engineer to join an already existing team that are currently responsible for the delivery of a major power construction project. The project comprises of the construction of a coal fired power station which will be one of the largest coal fire power stations in the world upon completion. The Senior Planning Engineer will report directly into the Planning Manager and they will be responsible for the following:
- Load baseline programme with resources.
- Progress baseline programme weekly.
- Produce short term programmes in conjunction with the construction teams.
- Contribute appropriately to daily, weekly and monthly reports.
- Formalise, advise and monitor site supervisory staff of the required productivity outputs and resource requirements to achieve the contract activity target programme.
- Measures performance against requirements and provides feedback and support.
- Has regular meetings with all project stakeholders to understand progress, variations, changes in focus and priorities and communicates the same to the project planning team.
- Liases with Planning and Project Manager regarding optimal staffing requirements of each project.

Candidates should have experience of working on large scale power construction projects. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience of working on power station projects and / or experience on large and complex projects.
- A relevant University degree or professional qualification Engineering
- Advanced user of Primavera P6 and above, including resources and reports
- Advanced excel skills including use of graphs and formulas
- Experience of working on large projects as the Contractor in an EPC environment
- Minimum 5 years experience.
