Role:
My client is a top 10 contractor that works on projects up to the value of £70 million. Projects include schools, universities, offices, retail parks, hospitals, stations and mixed use schemes. This contractor has one of the lowest staff turnover rates in the industry and a fantastic name for their high level of employee investment with time and money/training. They are recruiting due to a high increase in workload after winning a number of large tenders in the Midlands. The role will be site based and focus on the preparation of design, construction, target and procurement programmes. The chosen software is Asta Powerproject. This role may also include some tender planning and the mentoring and monitoring of junior members of the large team.
A competitive salary of up to £60,000 + package is on offer with this position. The chosen applicant would also be given a structured career progression plan to aide them in moving up the company ladder both in terms of salary and package.
The candidate:
- Minimum of 6 years construction planning experience for a recognised contractor
- A strong knowledge and understanding of Asta Powerproject software
- Site planning experience and a knowledge of tender process
- Will ideally hold experience in either site management, site engineering or project management
- Relevant degree or qualification
- MAMP, ICE or CIOB membership is desired but not essential
- Knowledge and understanding of NEC and JCT contracts
- Will be able to work both as part of a team and on own initiative
- Must have strong written and personal skills and be a good communicator
- Will be highly career motivated and enthusiastic
- Must have a valid UK driving licence, this is essential
- Must be eligible to live and work in the UK, visa sponsorship is not offered
