Planning Manager – Birmingham
Planning Manager is required for a fantastic opportunity based in Birmingham - the company is a well known contracting business that comprises of a UK wide network of offices and that operates internationally. A very competitive salary is on offer of up to £65,000 plus a fully comprehensive main contractor benefits package for the right individual, which includes car or car allowance, pension, healthcare etc.
My client is seeking to appoint a Planning Manager with circa 8 years experience to join their Midlands business unit that is responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of new build & construction projects in the region.
Reporting into the Construction Director the Planning Manager will be tasked with managing a team of 6 other Planning Engineers from junior to senior level. The Planning Manager’s role will entail the management of the planning team providing mentoring and allocating work. The Planning Manager will be responsible for the planning function in the Midlands and they will play a hands on roll at both tender and contract stages of projects.
Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience to be considered for this opportunity:
- Educated within an engineering discipline.
- Strong user of Asta Powerproject
- Circa 8 years planning experience is required gained on UK New Build projects.
- Strong knowledge of planning at both tender and contract stages
- Strong communication skills
- Strong understanding of construction techniques.
- Management experience is beneficial but Senior Planners looking to take the next step on the career ladder will seriously be considered.
