Planner or Senior Planner – Civils/Defence/Gas/Technology – Permanent – Security Clearance - Worcestershire – Salary up to £50,000 + company car, pension, guaranteed bonus, bupa and living expenses
This position will be site based with a reputable UK consultant that is involved in a 5 year government framework involving the National Grid. The role has arisen due to a high increase in workload on sites between Wales and London. The project involves the installation and upgrade of security measures on gas & electrical sites including CCTV, deterrent systems, deferent systems, receiving systems, trenches for fences, cabling, security doors etc.
This role offers a contract or a permanent opportunity, high levels of longevity and guaranteed work, a dynamic project mix, the chance to work as part of a professional and sociable team coupled with a decent salary or contract daily rate. As there would be a level of travel involved with this position a rate of 40 pence per mile is on offer for business mileage and a £60 per day living allowance for those who may at times, stay away from home.

The role:
- Site/project planning
- Preparing programmes
- Coordination of reporting output of 2 junior planners
- Minimal tender reviewing of tenders submitted by the contractors
- Earned value management and risk management
- Offer advice to project managers and planning managers
- Daily use of Primavera P6 software
- Technical management of 2 planners (day to day covered by Planning Manager)
Candidate:
- Security Clearance is essential, as is a full UK driving licence
- Candidate must have held UK passport for minimum of 5 years
- Civils or defence experience and preferably some form of energy project exposure
- Must have a knowledge and preferably experience of NEC3 contracts
- A strong background using Primavera P6 software
- Minimum of 5 years direct planning experience in a similar role
- Consultancy experience is not essential but not desired
- Background in either management or mentoring of junior members of staff
- Candidate must hold strong communication and presentation skills and experience and a solid site planning background.
