Senior Planning Engineers – Australia, NSW

My client is one of Australia's largest project development and contracting groups. They have a range of capabilities across diverse industry sectors with activities in the telecommunications, engineering and infrastructure, building and property, mining and resources, and environmental services industries.

Due to business growth and the recent award of some substantial projects, my client is now seeking a number of experienced Planning Engineers with a track record of working on civil engineering project for their operations in New South Wales and Australian Capital State.
One specific requirement is for a Senior Project Planner to be responsible for delivering major Road Project with a value of +$200 million in New South Wales.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic planning advice and detailed work plans for all areas across the project
• Maintain and improve planning procedures
• Produce reports, organise and run construction progress meetings
• Work in close collaboration with Project Managers in developing solutions to potential problems to ensure successful delivery and project completion
• Liaise with Project team, Cost Controller and client to monitor trends and analyse their impact on the project
• Monitor and update project schedules, milestones and overall completion timetables
• Maintain primavera software to ensure deadlines are met

Experience and qualifications required:

• A minimum of 10 years experience
• Demonstrated significant previous planning and scheduling experience on major civil construction projects together with proficiency in planning software
• Experience in site based project planning on +$150m projects
• Main Contractor background preferred
• Excellent knowledge of Primavera P6 and relevant local planning legislation
• Being able to build up program from first principles e.g. drawings, specifications and quantities
• Good Communication and presentation skills
