Due to current expansion plans, one of the world’s leading brands within the rail engineering market seeks to employ a proven, high calibre planning management professionals in the role of Planning Manager.
You will have a previous proven track record of setting up and developing PMO offices within the UK engineering markets.
The Role
The key purpose of the role of Planning Manager is to play a lead role in the development and implementation of stream lined planning processes and procedures for the whole of the UK business. You will lead and inspire a large team of planning professionals across the UK ensuring quality and best practice is performed for each task.
Responsibilities
The Planning Manager will be responsible for promoting planning standards and procedures across various programmes and projects ensuring that all staff are fully trained, coached and supported. You will ensure that all project plans are compliant with planning standards as well as the resolution of deviations from the processes. Using your excellent managerial experience, you will play a key role in the professional development of your planning team with coaching and annual appraisals. You will create a “centre of excellence” for the business focusing on planning excellence, advice and support for the planning community.
Requirements
In order to be considered for this role of Planning Manager, all applicants will need to demonstrate and possess the following:
*Previous experience of setting up PMO offices
*Extensive knowledge of Primavera, ideally with system administration experience
*Experience of working in the engineering market, ideally rail
*Previous experience working in Planning / Programme Management capacity
*Working experience of structured project management methodologies such as Prince2, APM, PMI
