Senior Planning Engineer - Glasgow

Senior Planning Engineer is required by a major player within the UK Rail market. The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for producing competitive Tenders for a wide variety of Railway Industry projects. The Senior Planning Engineer will be based out of their offices in Glasgow and they will work alongside the Estimating Team and will be set the challenge to develop the department.

The Senior Planning Engineer will be responsible for:

·         Ensuring relevant company procedures are adhered to.

·         The production of resource/cost loaded project programmes.

·         The accurate updating and management of the programmes in accordance with company procedure, along with the distribution of said programme outputs as directed by the Planning Manager.

Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience to be considered for this opportunity.

·         Min 5 years experience of project planning within an engineering environment.

·         Advanced user of planning software packages.

·         Has multi discipliner experience in the rail industry, primarily Signalling, Telecommunications and Electrification but also in PWay and Civils enabling works.

·         3-5 years significant experience of tender and estimating work.

·         Minimum Degree or HND in an appropriate engineering.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ideally experience in managing and motivating small teams.

·         Commercially aware.

On offer is a basic salary of circa £48,000 plus an attractive benefits package.
