The successful Lead Planning Engineer will have a proven background in managing teams of planners on major projects and have experience in project controls with excellent Programme knowledge also the use of Primavera ideally SAP as well.
The objective of this opportunity is to lead the planning resource supporting the three P&L areas and the Tender team. The position will ensure that the planning needs of the areas are resourced adequately with competent planning staff and provide the day to day training, mentoring and management of these embedded planners. The role will interface with other planning functions within the department and work as a team to deliver the necessary reports and information with which the department supports the UK business as a whole.
The Lead Planning Engineer will be responsible for Managing the planning resource to the areas ensuring an efficient planning service which is sufficient to support planned workloads but flexible enough to cover short term peaks of work, ensure the highest standards of planning and compliance to the Subsea management arrangements are maintained to the areas supported, undertake regular reviews of the service provided to ensure the highest standards are maintained, ensure all employees within the Project Planning Team are sufficiently trained and competent to meet all requirements and demands, Interface with the Planning Lead in Subsea (Norway) in order to ensure a seamless planning support to Major projects from the UK Work Packs, ensure the timely production of accurate internal reports with which the department supports the achievement of On Time Delivery (OTD) to clients (Internal & External), Work closely and supportively with the other parts of the Planning Department in order to improve OTD across all work functions and personally responsible for the quality of their work, their teams output, whilst making a positive contribution to the quality of both the department and the work carried out by their colleagues..
