THE ROLE

Due to an increase in workload, this International engineering company require a Planning Manager to join them on a multi million pound Rail signalling Project

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the development, maintenance and monitoring of the project and programme schedules to facilitate the delivery of the programme.

 

  • Deploy the planning team members across the organisation to provide planning support to facilitate timely delivery of scope.
  • Facilitate the timely and regular transfer of accurate and coherent schedule information from each of the functional teams.
  • Coordinate the various component schedules into a Programme Integrated Schedule to give visibility of the overall programme schedule to the organisation.
  • Establish and communicate a suite of Key Programme Milestones to organise and coordinate programme delivery.
  • Identify and communicate the key programme deliverables related to each key programme milestone to each function within the organisation to facilitate timely and coordinated delivery.
  • Communicate status of the Programme Integrated Schedule throughout the organisation on a timely and regular basis.
  • Identify and communicate specific schedule issues to the Senior Management Team as may from time to time develop.
  • Ensure planning team members are conversant with all programme policies and procedures.
  • Cascade such information as may from time to time be released by the management team to the planning team members.
  • Forecast planning team resource deployment profile for the duration of the programme.
  • Provide such additional support to the Project Controls Manager as may be from time to time required.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience of large railway infrastructure programmes essential
  • Proven experience of managing programme planning teams essential
  • Proven experience of schedule development in Primavera Project Manager P6 essential
  • Proven Line management experience
  • Proven experience of implementing earned value techniques essential
  • Proven experience in the use of computer software products (including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) essential
  • Experience of schedule development in Primavera Project Manager P3 desirable
  • Experience of schedule development in MS Project desirable
  • Experience of working under NEC3 contract desirable
