Position: Project Controls Manager
Location: London
Salary: Circa £70,000 - £90,000 + Package
THE ROLE
A Project Controls Manager is required to work on a Major London Underground Re-Signalling Project for a Global railway Engineering Company
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Controls Manager will lead all aspects of project controls and reporting for the Project. This includes schedule management, integration of sub-schedules, cost loading, progress reporting, earned value reporting and risk and opportunity management.
Key accountabilities include:
- Lead team of planning engineers in the day to day management and development of the detailed project schedule. Manage the allocation of resources to the schedule and lead the time reporting process through P6 timesheets. Provide input for invoicing (actual and forecast hours).
- Manage the 4 weekly progress reporting process, including gathering of progress information from multiple sites, schedule updates, analysis of progress, identification of issues and proposal for schedule mitigation. Reporting to both project and internal management.
- Lead the earned value process, taking cost information from the project and combining with progress to give view of overall project progress through earned value techniques.
- Input to weekly and 4 weekly reporting requirements/ Lead the management of the schedule under the NEC3 contract, agreeing any changes, including QSRA, and resulting in an Accepted Programme on an ongoing basis.
- Champion and drive forward lower level detail schedules to support functions in the delivery of their work and manage the integration and link between these schedule and the DPS.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree level or equivalent in a related discipline
- Significant experience in planning and working within complex interdisciplinary projects.
- Executing large projects using Primavera P6, preferably within railway signalling.
- Experience of leading and directing a team to deliver the business and project requirements of the project controls function.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels across project teams, functions, different cultures and disciplines
- Experience of planning and project control philosophy and governance.
- Experience of integration and management of integrated programmes at project level.
- Knowledge and experience of earned value techniques and management of projects through earned value.
- Experience in setting up a project based project control function, including definition of processes.
- Presentable, enthusiastic and trustworthy.
- Ability and willingness to travel occasionally
