Planner/Project Manager - Rail (contract role in London)
Job Title: Project Manager - Rail
Salary: Up to £400 per day (limited company contractor)
Duration: 4-6 months
Location: North London

A genuinely exciting opportunity to work with a consultancy in the PMO of a major rail infrastructure project, which is already at an advanced stage with much of the infrastructure work already in place. Accordingly there are many challenges ahead as they approach the final stages of the project, during which time you will be supporting the Senior Programme Manager in all necessary areas such as closing out each workstream, ensuring all the necessary completions paperwork is in place, finalising commercial positions, delivering the remainder of the project in the most efficient manner, controlling costs and the plan, demobilising and anything else the SPM throws at you!
The position is on contract until March or May 2011
Mandatory Requirements:
*P3e Conversant (currently using P5)
* Extensive rail project experience, ideally on civils / permanent way enhancement projects (or signalling) and ideally experienced dealing with large contractor organisations.
* Extremely strong interpersonal & influencing skills as you will be dealing with a lot of strong personalities, operating at all levels.
* Strong man management skills as you will be looking after a couple of personnel in the Completions team.
* Able to “hit the ground running”, which will require you to quickly assimilate an extensive and diverse range of project history & current status.
* First class organisational skills, including planning and running some key cyclical meetings.
* Strong commercial acumen, to assist in working up the projected outturns.
