Hi Jaishankar,

thank for your message.

We have experimented with Navisworks Manage, which works fine for projects where a complete 3D model is available.

For shutdowns we have the challenge that there is no consistent model of the complete plant, because most parts of it are very old.

To work around that we have now developed our own tool which only needs some basic equipment data (like equipment type, tag no., x/y/z - coordinates and progress data). The tool imports the data into AutoCAD and creates automatically a 3D model with generic symbols for each of the equipment types. The result is a simple 3D model with filter options for equipment as planned / delayed /critically delayed / completed.

cheers!

Hello Eckart

You may use Naviswork Manage timeliner application to link your detailed schedule activities with the 3D model.

You need to check the unique code of equipments / items from model and modify the corresponding activity description in your schedule accordingly.

Then you can import the Schedule in naviswork manage timeliner. This will allow you to link time with 3D model and that will result in 4D. You can use simulation to see the construction progress against time period.

Thank you
