Hi Yalcyn. Yes if you have both sets of software. Just open the .xer file in ASTA. Best regards Mike Testro.

May I import my xer file to do your advice in asta power project?

Executing the filter no matter if pre defined or created this shall be available at a single click of the mouse. After  you execute the filter then deleting the links shall also be at a single click of the mouse. As easy as 123.

For more complex filter on links the filter might have to be executed on the links table after initial filter on activities successors/predecessors/both. For this purpose using reports instead of filters on complex jobs is not efficient and is also error prone.

As a double check and for documentation it is convenient to compare link tables among the versions, unfiltered vs filtered.

Usually a filter along with a links table can be better for this purpose but in their lack you might try "trace logic".

If your schedule is impacted by resource leveling the temporary links used by P6 will not be visible as it cannot disclose them. I use software that discloses the temporary dependencies but maybe you can figure out a methodology. I suppose you can identify resource delayed activities if they show no single driving logic predecessor.

My schedule has approximately 8000 activities. I cant use activity codes because fancoil activity's has lots of paths included finishing works like suspended ceiling frame. I need to choose all of successors chained by each other. I hope you understand me correctly. Our fancoil installation was revised by the main contractor so I need to prepare our time claim analysis via p6

On resource leveled schedules if the resource dependencies are not disclosed you will be missing some relevant activities down/up stream.

Make sure your software can disclose resource dependencies.

- Apportionment of delay responsibility may be inaccurate unless resource allocation practice is considered in the analysis.

Thank you Mike!

Filtering driving links as an option is useful, but to know all activities dependent on selected is useful too.

Hi Vladimir

It shows all tasks linked upstream or downstream of the selected task.

It is clearer using the "driving link" option.

Mike, does Asta filter and show all paths of successors and predecessors or just directly linked activities?

Hi Vladimir

In Asta there is an icon that will show all predecessors and successors of a selected task. You chose driving links only to get a clear picture.

In Spider Project there is standard filter: show all successors of current activity. I expect that something like this may exist in P6.

I will first apologize for possibly misunderstanding your question.

My immediate thought is that you need a good/complete set of activity codes so that you can filter/select activities that are all part of a common process like those that are predecessors to Fan Coil Install (that support this activity's readiness.  Then you can easily select only those activities and work only on those activieies.

If I went in the wrong direction, please do your best to further explain.
