Would you want to be a planner with a specialised contractor or general contractor/owner

Yes, specialized contractor as in trade subcontractor like facade, MEP and interior architectural , etc.

General contractor as in main contractor.

My experience so far is planner tend to take on more responsibility in specialist contractor rather than main contractor .

I think is more of choosing between the head of a mouse to the tail of a lion. As for head of lion, it is very unusual that planners take on at that level. Correct me if I am wrong. And if it's the tail of a mouse, I think is time that planner change a job.

Tim Tam,

When you say specialized contractor do you mean one that work on many large projects as a subcontractor or one working as general contractor doing many small jobs?

Subcontractors usually are required to follow General Contractor schedule, they are at the lowest of food chain, this I don't like.

I prefer being head of lion, if not possible then I prefer being head of mouse rather than tail of lion. If being tail is the only option then tail of lion.

Best Regards,

Rafael
