You apply for a particular level that matches your current status and as far as I understand the requirements are some endorsements from employers plus a Skype interview - no formal exam.
it is essential that you read the CIOB book Guide to Good Practice in the Time Control of Complex Projects as the questions will be based on that.
The CIOB definition of a complex project is anything above a garden shed with two doors.
